O presidente Jair Bolsonaro afirmou nesta sexta-feira (5) que pretende acabar com o horário de verão no país. Segundo ele, o fim da antecipação em uma hora do relógio está quase certa pelos estudos obtidos pelo Ministério de Minas e Energia.
Em março, o deputado federal João Campos (PRB-GO) defendeu ao presidente que o horário de verão seja extinto em Goiás. “Não teremos horário de verão. Quase certo, pelo estudo que tenho”, disse.
“O João Campos fez um arrazoado para não ter horário de verão”, disse Bolsonaro em um café da manhã com jornalistas no Palácio do Planalto. A Folha estava entre os convidados.
O horário de verão foi adotado pela primeira vez no país no fim de 1931, com a finalidade de economizar energia elétrica nos meses mais quentes do ano. Foi aplicado sem interrupção nos últimos últimos 35 anos.
Pesquisas mostram, no entanto, que a eficiência na economia de energia vem caindo ano após ano. Um estudo divulgado pelo ONS (Operador Nacional do Sistema Elétrico), considerou nula a economia de energia durante o horário de verão 2017/2018.
De acordo com o relatório, a redução apresentada em análises durante o horário de verão também foram verificadas em outros períodos, antes mesmo dos ajustes no relógio.
Segundo alguns especialistas, a queda dos índices de economia de energia acontecem pela mudança de comportamento do brasileiro. As pessoas atualmente têm jornadas de trabalhos diferentes, saem de casa mais tarde e utilizam mais o ar condicionado durante o dia, quando as temperaturas estão elevadas.
No verão 2016/2017, a economia decorrente da redução do uso de usinas foi de R$ 159,5 milhões. No mesmo período do ano anterior (2015/2016), foram economizados R$ 162 milhões.
