A reportagem da Rádio Gazeta Fm conversou com Isaac Roque (30 anos), Biólogo formado pela Faculdade Claretianas de Batatais sobre um assunto que tem preocupado especialistas por todo o mundo; Os altos índices de mortes de abelhas.
Segundo Isaac, muito se deve ao desequilíbrio do ecossistema provocado pelas ações do homem, como exemplo o contato com alguns agrotóxicos que possuem ingredientes fatais para insetos ou a falta de plantas e flores que servem como alimentos para as abelhas.
As abelhas são os principais agentes polinizadores da maioria dos ecossistemas do planeta. Voando de flor em flor, elas polinizam e promovem a reprodução de diversas espécies de plantas.
No Brasil, cerca de 60% das plantas cultivadas para alimentação humana e produção animal dependem da polinização deste inseto e 75% dos cultivos destinados à alimentação humana no mundo dependem das abelhas.

De acordo com dados divulgados em março pela Revista EXAME, somente nos três primeiros meses do ano, mais de 500 milhões de abelhas foram encontradas mortas por apicultores apenas em quatro estados brasileiros.
Foram 400 milhões no Rio Grande do Sul, 7 milhões em São Paulo, 50 milhões em Santa Catarina e 45 milhões em Mato Grosso do Sul, segundo estimativas de Associações de apicultura, secretarias de Agricultura e pesquisas realizadas por universidades.
