As exportações de café verde do Brasil despencaram 36,9% em maio na comparação anual, para 1,46 milhão de sacas de 60 kg, o menor volume exportado pelo país desde fevereiro de 2004, com impacto da paralisação dos caminhoneiros no mês passado, de acordo com dados do Conselho dos Exportadores de Café (Cecafé).
A exportação de maio –um mês também impactado negativamente pela baixa oferta de café do Brasil por conta da entressafra– se configura no menor volume desde fevereiro de 2004, quando o país embarcou 1,4 milhão de sacas, de acordo com dados do Cecafé, informou nesta terça-feira o conselho.
“No mês de maio foi evidenciada a menor oferta para a exportação, como já prevíamos devido ao período de entressafra. Além disso, com os protestos e a greve dos caminhoneiros, o volume foi ainda menor, pois deixamos de embarcar entre 400 mil a 500 mil sacas neste mês”, disse o presidente do Cecafé, Nelson Carvalhaes, em relatório.
O volume de que deixou exportado, contudo, é menor do que o apontado pelo Cecafé ainda durante os protestos, de 900 mil sacas.
“Com a estimativa de que teremos uma safra recorde de café para o próximo ano cafeeiro, que oficialmente se iniciará em julho, o Cecafé espera recuperação dos volumes exportados”, acrescentou Carvalhaes.
Para este mês, a expectativa é de uma recuperação nos embarques, apontam os certificados de exportação que estão sendo emitidos, segundo o Cecafé.
Mas a situação ainda não é de normalidade, uma vez que os protestos de maio reduziram os estoques nos portos e limitaram o transporte do produto.
Do total embarcado em maio, 1,42 milhão de sacas foram de café arábica (queda de 38,4%), enquanto 46,5 mil sacas de robusta (alta de 134,8%).
Também foram exportadas 233,56 mil sacas de café solúvel (queda de 15,2%) e 476 sacas de torrado e moído (queda de 79%).
As exportações totais de café do Brasil em maio, entre verde e industrializado, atingiram 1,7 milhão de sacas, queda de 34,7%.
