João de Deus corre risco de ter uma “morte súbita” por hemorragia caso o aneurisma que possui no abdômen se rompa, segundo informou o médico Alberto Las Casas Júnior nesta sexta-feira (22).
O cardiologista avaliou o médium há exatamente um mês na prisão, a pedido dos advogados dele, e emitiu um laudo que embasou decisão do Superior Tribunal de Justiça (STJ) de transferi-lo da cadeia para um hospital.
Alberto contou que João de Deus deve ficar em um leito isolado no Instituto de Neurologia de Goiânia. De acordo com o profissional, o quarto já está reservado para o médium. João de Deus está preso desde o dia 16 de dezembro acusado de crimes sexuais durante atendimentos espirituais. Ele sempre negou as acusações.
A transferência do Complexo Prisional de Aparecida de Goiânia, onde o médium está preso, foi determinada pelo ministro Nefi Cordeiro, na quinta-feira (21). Conforme a decisão, João de Deus pode ficar por quatro semanas em um hospital para tratamento, sendo monitorado por tornozeleira eletrônica ou vigiado por escolta policial.
Até a publicação desta reportagem, João de Deus não havia deixado o presídio. Em nota, a Diretoria-Geral de Administração Penitenciária (DGAP) informou que, até o início da manhã desta sexta-feira, não havia sido notificada da decisão e que, assim que isto ocorrer, será cumprida.
Aneurisma
O médico revelou que examinou João de Deus no último dia 22 de fevereiro. Segundo o cardiologista, o paciente possui um aneurisma na aorta, de 2,5 centímetros, diagnosticado em exames feitos quando o preso deixou a penitenciária no dia 2 de janeiro, ao se sentir mal.
João de Deus também apresentou pressão alta quando foi avaliado – 18 por 10 -, além de indícios de trombose. Ele deve passar por uma nova bateria de exames tão logo seja internado. A necessidade de uma cirurgia ainda será avaliada.
Quarto isolado
O médico disse que o hospital ainda não foi notificado formalmente de que João de Deus será levado para a unidade. Apesar disso, o cardiologista diz que já reservou um leito isolado para o paciente, que arcará com todas as despesas do tratamento médico que receber.
Segundo o médico, pelo quadro clínico, não seria necessário manter João de Deus em um quarto afastado. Porém, por precaução em relação aos crimes pelos quais é acusado e para evitar problemas com outros pacientes, ele optou pelo leito isolado.
“Esse também um ponto importante para o hospital, que precisa de preservar. A gente optou por um quarto isolado também por essa questão (os crimes dos quais é acusado)”, afirma.
Pedidos de habeas corpus
A defesa de João de Deus vem tentando a soltura dele ou a transferência para prisão domiciliar desde que ele foi detido. O médium teve habeas corpus negado em caráter liminar no Tribunal de Justiça do Estado de Goiás (TJ-GO) e no STJ.
A corte especial do TJ-GO concedeu habeas corpus ao médium na denúncia por corrupção de testemunhas, mas ele não foi liberado porque tem outros dois mandados de prisão contra ele. O mesmo benefício foi concedido ao filho Sandro Teixeira, que responde à mesma acusação e foi solto.
