Fundador da Facebook disse que rede social vai trabalhar para impedir interferência em próximas eleições no Brasil.
Após admitir que o Facebook errou no escândalo dos dados coletados por uma empresa que trabalhou para a campanha de Donald Trump à presidência dos EUA, Mark Zuckerberg disse na noite desta quarta-feira (21) em entrevista à rede americana CNN que testemunhará no Congresso “se for a coisa certa a se fazer”. Ele comentou ainda que as eleições de 2018 no Brasil são uma das preocupações da rede social.
Na mesma entrevista, Zuckerberg disse lamentar o escândalo envolvendo dados vazados de mais de 50 milhões de usuários e que não deveria ter confiado na empresa Cambridge Analytica quando ela disse que tinha deletado os dados.
O caso é investigado pelos parlamentares dos EUA e no Reino Unido. “A resposta curta é fico satisfeito [em testemunhar] se essa for a coisa certa a se fazer”, disse o fundador do Facebook. “O que tentaremos fazer é enviar a pessoa do Facebook com o maior conhecimento. Se sou eu, ficarei satisfeito em ir”, disse.
O Facebook também conduz sua própria investigação interna sobre o comprometimento de informações de usuários, que foram usados pela empresa de consultoria britânica Cambridge Analytica, contratada pela campanha presidencial de Donald Trump em 2016.
A companhia obteve as informações em 2014 e as usou para construir uma aplicação destinada a prever as decisões dos eleitores e também a influenciá-las, segundo revelaram os jornais “London Observer” e “New York Times”.
Nesta quarta, Zuckerberg divulgou um comunicado no qual reconheceu que a empresa errou ao permitir que os dados dos usuários fossem compartilhados e anunciou que a companhia vai aprimorar suas ferramentas de segurança e auditar os aplicativos parceiros.
O fundador do Facebook também falou sobre novas medidas de segurança que serão adotadas pela rede social e que foram anunciadas em seu comunicado divulgado mais cedo:
