Aconteceu no último dia 19 de dezembro, no Palácio dos Bandeirantes, em São Paulo, a 11º Encontro Estadual do Programa Município Verde Azul (PMVA) que avalia políticas ambientais.
Orlândia encerrou o ciclo de 2018, na 76ª posição, com a segunda melhor pontuação/colocação da sua história no PMVA, totalizando 74,73 pontos (a melhor pontuação/colocação do município foi em 2017, na 51ª posição, com 79,10 pontos). O município garantiu a qualificação no programa que aconteceu em junho deste ano, quando eram necessários 40 pontos, Orlândia qualificou com 58,67 pontos. Ainda cabem recursos dos IAA dos municípios.

A participação do município no PMVA é um dos critérios de avaliação para a preferência na liberação de recursos do Fundo Estadual de Controle da Poluição – FECOP. As ações propostas pelo PMVA, compõem as dez diretivas norteadoras da agenda ambiental local, abrangendo os seguintes temas estratégicos: Município Sustentável, Estrutura e Educação Ambiental, Conselho Ambiental, Biodiversidade, Gestão das Águas, Qualidade do Ar, Uso do Solo, Arborização Urbana, Esgoto Tratado e Resíduos Sólidos.
