Alunos foram infectados por tipo viral da doença e 3 seguem hospitalizadas. Estudantes usarão copos, pratos e talheres descartáveis, e serão vacinados a partir de segunda-feira (22).
Após quatro casos confirmados de meningite viral em crianças, a Prefeitura de São Joaquim da Barra (SP) iniciou nesta quarta-feira (17) uma série de ações de prevenção da doença em creches e escolas de ensino infantil, incluindo a vacinação dos alunos.
A imunização começará a ser feita na segunda-feira (22) e deve durar até o fim do mês. As crianças também passarão a utilizar copos, pratos e talheres descartáveis, e estão sendo orientadas a lavar as mãos constantemente dentro das unidades.
“A prevenção é a mesma da H1N1, lavar as mãos, principalmente após usar o banheiro, usar álcool gel em ambientes coletivos, usar lenços descartáveis, hidratação. É uma doença transmitida de forma viral”, disse o diretor de Saúde, Rangel Luís Melo.
As crianças infectadas têm em média 2 anos de idade: três estão matriculadas no Centro de Educação Infantil José do Pinho e uma na Escola Municipal Fernando Cezar Fonseca. As unidades estão localizadas a 550 metros de distância uma da outra.
“Elas estão bem, uma delas já recebeu alta e as outras três estão com previsão de alta médica para amanhã. A meningite é viral, não é bacteriana e nem meningocócica, que são formas mais agressivas”, afirmou Melo.
Ainda segundo o diretor de Saúde, os diretores dos colégios devem se reunir com pais dos alunos nesta quarta-feira para orientar a importância da vacinação, as formas de tratamento e prevenção da doença, causada por tipos diferentes de vírus.
