Além dos preços do etanol estarem mais atrativos nas bombas, principalmente entre os meses de janeiro a julho deste ano, boa parte dos proprietários de carros flex vem notando que, fora a vantagem econômica, o produto tem rendido mais no tanque. Segundo o Instituto Mauá de Tecnologia, a performance do biocombustível em veículos de diferentes categorias pode ser melhor do que se imagina.
O diretor Técnico da União da Indústria de Cana-de-Açúcar (UNICA), Antonio de Padua Rodrigues, explica: “De maneira geral, acreditava-se que o etanol só vale a pena financeiramente quando o seu preço apresentava uma paridade de até 70% em relação à gasolina. Entretanto, estudos da Mauá indicam que este parâmetro mudou, pode chegar a até 75,4%, uma diferença considerável”.
Testes urbanos e rodoviários conduzidos em 2017 pelo Instituto Mauá demonstram que o desempenho médio do biocombustível em 20 veículos de diversas categorias (Popular 1.0, Sedan Médio, SUV, Popular 1.6) variou de 70,7% e 75,4%, ou seja, um resultado superior aos valores de referência encontrados para os mesmos modelos no Programa Brasileiro de Etiquetagem Veicular (PBEV); 66,7% e 72,1%, respectivamente.
Segundo o Instituto Mauá, para escolher entre etanol e gasolina, o consumidor deve considerar outros fatores. Além o renovável produzido da cana apresentar, atualmente, melhor performance em função da evolução técnica dos motores flex nos últimos anos, é preciso observar também pontos que influenciam diretamente no gasto do combustível, como o percurso do veículo e a forma de dirigir,
“Os testes do PBEV, que indicam a paridade de até 70%, estão defasados e levam em conta somente o poder calorífico do etanol em relação à gasolina, mas não outras condições de uso real, como o fato de o motor ser mais exigido em alguns percursos do que no circuito utilizado em testes laboratoriais. O motorista deve considerar esses aspectos na hora de fazer a conta e decidir com qual combustível vai abastecer o seu carro”, conclui o diretor da UNICA.
