Com a chegada do período de estiagem, há um aumento expressivo na quantidade de ocorrências de queimadas e incêndios em Orlândia.
Além do impacto negativo que essas queimadas causam no meio ambiente, problemas respiratórios se agravam e atacam principalmente as crianças e os idosos.
Com a intenção de conscientizar a população, sobre a importância de se evitar as queimadas, a reportagem da Rádio Gazeta Fm conversou com Roberto da Costa Lobo Benfatti – Tenente do Corpo de Bombeiros e responsável pelo 9º Grupamento de Orlândia.
De acordo com os dados apresentados pelo Tenente Benfatti ,em 2018 foram registradas 83 ocorrências de queimadas em Orlândia, e em comparativo do período referente aos meses de Janeiro a maio, em 2018 foram 27 ocorrências, enquanto em 2019 já foram contabilizadas mais de 40 ocorrências .
A área de cobertura do 9º grupamento de Orlândia compreende a dez municípios de nossa região, incluindo os distritos de Capelinha e Santo Inácio, além da área de zona rural que margeiam esses municípios.
Segundo o Tenente Benfatti, o efetivo da corporação do 9º Grupamento é de 41 soldados, sendo 24 bombeiros municipais e 17 militares.
Efetivamente são 8 bombeiros trabalhando diariamente nas guarnições de atendimento, em regime de 24×48 horas e levando em conta aqueles que estão em período de descanso, férias e licença prêmio.
O efetivo reduzido pode ser insuficiente para atender as ocorrências, por isso é imprescindível que a população se conscientize dos riscos e evitem colocar fogo em matas e terrenos.
